About Us

I am a seasoned trial lawyer whose practice is focused on advising businesses on a wide variety of legal issues, including contract, real estate, construction, and insurance coverage disputes as well as many other unfair business practice disputes. I have experience handling trials and appeals in state and federal courts, various arbitral forums (such as the American Arbitration Association), and state and federal administrative agencies.

I represent clients in a broad array of business and industry segments, including the construction, real estate, coal and natural gas, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.

The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Commercial Litigation and , and have been named by my peers as a Virginia Super Lawyer.

I am admitted to practice in all of the courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States Supreme Court. I am also admitted to practice in New York State.

I regularly present on a range of litigation topics at Bar Association and other conferences and, since 2008, have taught trial advocacy as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Richmond School of Law.
