Join the Friends of the Goochland Branch Library and its members as they listen to the riveting account of race, civil rights, and education by a Virginia author, Kristen Green. Ms. Green’s book, Something Must Be Done About Prince Edward County, was a New York Times bestseller. In addition to her book, Ms. Green will discuss her research on Robert Lumpkin’s Slave Jail also known as the “Devil's half acre.” It was a holding facility, or slave jail, located in Richmond, Virginia, just three blocks from where the capitol building sits today. Refreshments will be served. Look forward to seeing you there!
