Shelley Durfee, owner of Canine Clips

The Goochland County Chamber of Commerce and Shelley Durfee, owner of Canine Clips invites the community to a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Thursday, December 10th. Canine Clips is located at 2976 River Road West, next to the Goochland Post Office. Please join Shelley for refreshments and the Ribbon Cutting from 4:00 p.m. till 5:30 p.m.

Shelley is excited about fulfilling her lifelong dream of opening a dog grooming business in the heart of Goochland County. Shelley is a single mother of two young children and a resident of Goochland. Shelly wants her children to realize that dreams can come true. She wants them to learn that hard work and setting goals can lead anyone to their ultimate dream!

She started in the dog grooming business 19 years ago and soon realized she had tapped into her talent and passion. As time went by, she dreamed that perhaps one day she would open her very own business. Shelley stated, “I learned how to groom from one of the best groomers I know, Deborah Franklin, which also happens to be a Goochland groomer”.

For as long as Shelley remembers, she has had pets surrounding her! She grew up with a very special love for animals. That certainly comes across when she is grooming all shapes and varieties of dogs.

Shelley stated, “Dogs are as unique as people, they have that special something that makes your heart melt and say, ‘that’s my baby’.” She wanted to give her company a name that sums up what she does, be catchy and easy to remember. Canine Clips sums up what she will be offering. As far as deciding where to locate her business was an easy decision for her. She lives in Goochland and knew that there are plenty of dogs to be groomed. Shelley feels with her business located in the heart of Goochland that owners can drop off their dogs, grab a bite to eat, do a little shopping or even just enjoy a cup of coffee while their beloved dogs are being groomed.

She takes the responsibility of grooming very seriously. It is with deep pride that she makes “your” dog look and feel good. So stop by and check out her new business located at 2976 River Road West, Goochland. Canine Clips is located next to the Goochland Post Office. To make an appointment just call 556-bath (2284). Her opening date will be Monday, December 14th. Shelley will be opened on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Canine Clips hours are 8:30 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. Shelley and the Chamber cordially invite you to attend the Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Thursday, December 10th from 4:00 p.m. till 5:30 p.m. Please call the Chamber at 556-3811 to let us know if you will be attending or make your reservations online.
