Rural Character Goochland has a long tradition of agriculture. Historically a region known for tobacco, today's farms are geared to cattle, crops and horses. Among the crops grown are wheat, soybeans, feed corn and hay. Some farmers raise chicken, fruit, vegetables, herbs and keep bees. Alpacas and goats are also gaining in popularity.
